HINESVILLE, Ga. (WTGS) — On Wednesday, members of the Hinesville Housing Authority and Liberty County residents came together to celebrate the opening of Liberty Landings, a new senior living community.
Melanie Thompson, CEO of the Hinesville Housing Authority, says she and her staff began the 18-month project after recognizing a need for more housing in the area.
“As a housing authority, you want to be ahead of the trend and to see a need. Whether it’s based on subsidy or a change in lifestyle, or decrease of income,” Thompson said.
Liberty Landings will host residents ages 55 and older, and leasing at the new building begins Aug. 1.
